One of the finest example of Rajput architecture, it was the ancient capital of Kachhawa rulers. Enjoy the ascent to the palace on the back of a brightly caparisoned elephant. The romance and spirit of the city can be felt when you walk past the roads of the pink city. You have less time today. So, visit the City palace and its museum, HawaMahal, the astronomical observatory Jantar Mantar built by the Sawai Man Singh II.
The monuments are built from pink sandstone, so Jaipur is called the pink city. From telephone booths to royal forts, you will see everywhere pink beauty. Also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-bari gardens, and the local Museums, BhartiyaLok Kala Mandir (Folk Art Museum). MotiMagri literal meaning ‘Pearl Hill’ is a memorial of MaharanaPratap.
Later in the evening enjoy boat cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. Also visit Fateh Sagar Lake. From the boat you will be able to view the city of Udaipur as it rises majestically above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthan desert. We also visit JaswantThada, a cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in the year 1899 AD in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.
In the afternoon, straight drive to Jaisalmer, founded in the year 1156 by Bhatti Rajput ruler RawalJaisal. Often described as Golden City & rising from the heart of the Thar Desert like a golden mirage the commanding Fort etched in yellow sandstone, dominates the amber-hued city with its entire awesome splendor.
En-route we visit Osiyan, an oasis in the desert with many beautiful Hindu and Jain temples. Arrive at Jaisalmer, check into your hotel and refresh yourself. Then go for a drive to see the sunset over the sand dunes near Jaisalmer. Return to your hotel to stay
